Who I am

Horse crazy girl with Kaua’i, Hawaii roots, Equine Facilitated Learning Teacher, author, life coach, mother, mermaid, dancer, grief facilitator & stage 4 cancer thriver are some of the titles I identify with.

I am the author of the best-selling book: Grace, Grit & Gratitude: A Cancer Thriver’s Journey from Hospice to Full Recovery with the Healing Power of Horses and my children’s books Kaimana the Hawaiian Mermaid, Comanche the Wild Mustang and the coloring book version of the Comanche book.  Since 2016, I have been sharing my journey with cancer, through my various social media pages. Check out my healing journey Cancer Warrioress website! It’s important for me to find joy in adversity, even with my dance with cancer.

In 2013, I founded Wind Horse Sanctuary, which is currently in Kaua’i, Hawaii and am a certified Eponaquest ‘Equine Facilitated Learning’ instructor, life coach and workshop leader. I’m grateful to be currently thriving on my Hawaiian island home with my gorgeous animals: two horses, Australian Shepard and cat. When not swimming in a mermaid tail (Mermaid IG page & Mermaid Biz page) in the gorgeous ocean surrounding the Garden Island, playing my fiddle or writing, you can find me happily scooping horse manure!

  • Women of Scar Clan: True Stories of Transcendence

My story is shared in this book

Women of Scar Clan is a triumphant victory song for women, offering hope and healing on every page. Your scars tell the stories of your most pivotal moments. They make you beautiful and strong. No matter how painful, those scars can become catalysts for personal growth, healing, and transformation.

Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estes coined the term Scar Clan to describe one who survived a great wound. Author Lynne Klippel interviewed women, ages 16 to 94, to learn how they recovered from deep losses. Each woman discovered her path to a state of grace, resilience, and wholeness, often through a connection with God.
